Ever After, has to be one of my all time favs of Drew Barrymore. This is a lovely take on the tale of Cinderella..with Drew playing the lead. Anjelica Houston plays a perfect wicked step mother looking to make the best for her and her children even if that means getting the lovely Cinderella out of the picture all together. Beautiful film that you will all enjoy.

There are so many moments in this film that captured my heart, uplifted me and made me genuinely, loudly and unselfconsciously laugh; the apples, the cat fight, the sword duel, the ruins, the river, the gypsies, Da Vinci, the dress, Utopia, the rescue, chocolate, the library, the ball, "just breathe" and that's just off the top of my head. If you've seen the film you'll know what I'm going on about. Drew Barrymore is ably supported by Anjelica Huston and Dougray Scott in this post-modern very contemporary updated cinderella story, despite being set in the past. Perfect escapist feel-good fun, with added philosophy that the great thinkers would recognise, romance that Austen would love and wit Oscar Wilde would be proud of. Glorious.

one thing i found contradicting, this movie tried to present a princess that is an idealist or, on a lesser extent, a feminist but she still cried too much like a disney princess imo. aside from that, i found the film's take on the fairy tale inventive and barrymore's take refreshing from the roles she has now.

LLLLOOOVVVEEE this movie SSSOOOO MMMUUUCCCHHH!!! i almost memoriesz the script! when i was in vacation in uae..i watch this 3 times a day for the next 2 weeks.. oh my gosh.. love this so much..
